The Illustration Biennial aims to find and promote the most innovative and fresh illustrative proposals, promoting Latin American graphic culture and new talents in an environment of creation, innovation and imagination that encourages the projection of graphic culture in America Latin. The aim is to recognize illustration as what it has always been: an artistic expression capable of transcending, not only through the visual scope, but also through the social one.
The jury for the second edition of the Illustration Biennial was made up of great international artists: Yuko Shimizu, Tara McPherson, Victo Ngai, Liniers and Jeremyville. With 5,857 competing works from 20 countries, it manages to be one of the Biennials with the highest participation and it is a showcase for the great creative and participatory world of illustration.
